Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Friuli-Venezia Giulia located in northeastern Italy and is home to some of its best white wines, which often show great structure, character and unmistakable aromas. With over 23,000 hectares cultivated, the region can be divided into three zones: a flat area in the province of Pordenone and part of the province of Udine; the northeastern part of the province of Udine and the province of Gorizia, home to the Isonzo and Collio DOCs; and finally the Giuliana part with the Carso DOC. Each of these areas boasts a unique style and native grapes, such as Friulano, once known as Tocai, Ribolla Gialla and Picolit. In addition, excellent wines made from international grapes, such as Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot, are also made.
